Salman Khan Reveals Why 10 Ka Dum Failed; Adds, "Thoda Sa Maar Kha Gaye Hum"
10 Ka Dum had two bumper seasons that ended in 2009 but since then, Salman has committed himself to Bigg Boss. And though fans of the franchise were excited to see 1o Ka Dum on their TV screens one more time, unfortunately it did not fare as expected
10 Ka Dum, flagged off with low ratings and continued to
do so for weeks. From getting celebs on board, to changing the telecast timing
and enhancing the production values, the makers tired their best to overcome
plunging ratings, but alas, nothing worked.
Now, speaking to DNA in an interview, Salman Khan opened
up about the dismal response, the show received. He said, “What happened was we
slotted the show on Monday-Tuesday, but nobody knew that it was being telecast.
Wahan thodasa maar kha gaye. Even I had thought it was a brilliant idea to slot
it on those days because on weekends people have several things to do. I
thought ki log ghar baithke dekh sakte hain at the beginning of the week. Lekin
that didn’t happen because the awareness was not there.”

In July this year, we analysed the show’s dismal ratings,
in a detailed story. Read it here: No Dum In 10 Ka Dum. What Went Wrong?
While 10 Ka Dum was its third week, the
producers realised that something was not quite right. Hence, the show was
shifted to a Saturday-Sunday slot, the actor said. To create awareness about
the weekend airing days, the makers also undertook another round of promotions;
which finally resulted in the show getting a TRP rating of 1.7-1.8, he added.
But, nothing could save this sinking ship. But there’s Bigg Boss 12 to look out
for. The superstar takes on hosting duties for yet another season of the
popular reality show which is slated to hit TV screens from September 16.
